Where do I start?
We have put together a great list of websites here on how to get started with prepping. You will find experience all across the board with all kinds of prepping topics. We are not planning to reinvent the wheel here so instead of our own experience (which is mainly with hurricanes), we are going to point you in the many directions that there are on the internet about how to get started prepping for yourselves. We are not associated with any of these websites. We are listing them for your convenience. Right click the links to open in new tabs so you can come back here for more links.
Don’t get overwhelmed thinking you have to do all this at once. It can start with as little as picking up a few extra things at the store the next time you go.
The Prepared – Prepping for Beginners
Quote: “You will save yourself a lot of wasted money and time, and be better prepared, if you take a little bit of time to learn from others instead of making the same mistakes most beginners make when they try to “skip the vegetables” — the real trick to prepping well is knowledge and following the right path, not putting a bucket of gear in your closet.”
Primal Survivor – Prepping 101 The Sensible Guide to Getting Prepared for Beginners
Quote: “It’s easy to live in a bubble where you believe that “nothing bad will happen to me. I don’t have to prepare for emergencies…”’
Things you might not think of outside of your food pantry.
Quote: “When you are new to prepping you will be very confused, I will not lie, when I first started I wasted so much money on crap I didn’t need. I’m here to stop you making my mistake.”
Quote: “Prepping is getting more mainstream today and there is a lot of information out there now about getting ready for an emergency or in case SHTF, but if you’re new to being a prepper, what should you do first? You need to know how to start prepping. “
Quote: “The APN exists to help people learn about Prepping and to facilitate them becoming Self Reliant through increased personal responsibility. If you have, or are gaining, a personal belief that it is up to you to provide for you and your family in difficult times – then you are on the path to becoming a Prepper! “
Quote: “When people first start prepping, they usually make a few mistakes. I know I did. Sometimes it’s because they get caught up in the idea of prepping and rush into it without taking time to plan and really consider what they’re preparing for. Other times it is simply because they don’t have enough information. If only I had known then what I know now.”
Lots of questions you didn’t know you might want to ask! Such as “What is a Prepper?”, “What are they Preparing For?”, “What are some common myths about preppers?”, and “How much food does a prepper store?” I think some of the answers will ease your mind if you are new to prepping.
That’s all the links we have for now but we will be on the lookout for more and when we find a great resource, we will post it here! Thank you for reading!
